SECRETARY REPORT

TREASURER REPORT – Casey S
- Financial Report for January 2025 indicated current status as adequate.
- Reminder that donations for 2025 membership can be submitted – $100 for individuals and $150 for couples
OLD BUSINESS
- Casey provided an update on the acquisition of an existing shed from a local resident
- Inspection indicated it is in good shape and would be useable for our purposes with minimum repair
- Team has capability of transporting the shed to the BRFD location
- Casey will coordinate/schedule moving process
- Casey delivered the new sweatshirts and is collecting payment of $32.50 each
- Rod presented proposed updates to BRCST Charter
- Update board member list
- Grammatical and typo changes
- Update to term limit section in case there is no successor available
- Update to meeting schedule to change board Meeting to “as needed” and General Meeting to “at least” once per quarter.
- Update to sub-committees section to remove descriptions of sub-committee types, but keep general description, since sub-committees will vary from year to year as needed
- Update to Organization Membership Requirements section to specify levels of Membership based on participation level, including activity participation and financial
- Update to Volunteering for Incident Response Team section to require Active Member level and remove details on each team requirements, providing recommended criteria across all teams and referencing each teams detailed requirements as defined by the team leader
- Rod and Daron will combine changes and send out revised Charter for approval before next meeting
- Daron presented update to the business Card and Flyer for discussion, and will coordinate changes and submit for printing before our next event
- Rod presented update on Active Shooter/Stop the Bleed training from Jim C.
- Jon P from CCSO would like to have an idea of number of attendees to solidify staffing and availability
- Team discussed and suggest we provide an estimate of 50-75 attendees
- Suggested we provide a signup process to get a more accurate count prior to event
- Target Date is Friday, May 16 if possible
- Pam was not available to provide update on Facebook campaign, but team is encouraged to utilize the resources when possible to get our message out for events and activity
NEW BUSINESS
- Mike B presented information on the May 3 BRFD Pancake Breakfast
- Coincides with a national Wildfire Awareness campaign launch for the month of May
- BRCST, along with other entities have been asked to speak and provide information on how they can help with wildfire preparedness
- BRCST will have a table to hand out information
- Daron reviewed potential training topics for 2025
- Suggested to have Emergency Planning course in April as a ramp up to Wildfire Awareness in May
- Follow-up to May events would be to conduct Mobility Preparedness in June as an open house event with info from each team and share what we do with the community
- Open House event would include food
- Casey provided update on stray horse event, and how he was able to respond using new phone setup – They knew horse owner and did not require activation of response team
- Rod will work with Dick to set up a table top exercise before our next meeting to run through a scenario or two for practice
- Nicole presented an option for safety vests for the team. Estimated cost is around $12-15 per vest. Team approved to proceed with this option.
