TREASURER REPORT – Brian A.
- Financial Report for April 2025 indicated current status as adequate.
- Brian will provided report for April
- Tax forms for 2024 have been filed. Thank you Lori for your help.
OLD BUSINESS
- Thanks sent out to Cal and team for getting the shed moved to the BRFD location. Casey and JR to assess repairs needed and provide a budget and plan for remediation. Chief Payne has offered to provide shingles needed for roof repair. A recommendation was made to install solar panels and system for charging radios. Ken T. will coordinate donated panels and review equipment needed to accomplish setup.
- Discussed info for Active Shooter training on May 17. As of 5/13 we have 52 registered. Morning session will be instructional and afternoon Stop the Bleed training will use mannequins for practice techniques. Lunch will be provided. Plan to set up tables on Saturday around 9:00 before the training.
- Discussed updates on June 7 Open House. Contact with CCSO indicates they are interested in being represented. Daron has confirmation from Coconino Emergency Services. Teams are recommended to prepare their exhibits/tables to draw interest. Team Leads and Daron will meet on May 20, 6:00 PM to discuss plans. Kathy will prepare flyer, based on input from Daron.
NEW BUSINESS
- Discussed feedback from May 3 event at BRFD. 8 New registrations. Ability to connect with other agencies was positive. Sheriff Axlund mentioned we may want to get into next year’s Search and Rescue training and possibility of having a satellite location at Blue Ridge.
- We will have a table set up at the Starlight Memorial Day weekend event (May 24). Will need volunteers to staff table.
- Discussion around advertising opportunities were raised to help get our organization publicized more. Potential for a sign at “the Mall” (Clint’s Well), entering a float in the July 4 parade, setting up a trailer with a sign to post at community entrances or other spots. JR to investigate possible sign design along with Kathy, and will check with new owners at Clint’s Well for possible display.
- Discussed incident in last month. Thanks to Pam, Cal, Sandy and Ron for taking care of the pet while the owner was in hospital. Cal mentioned that some firefighters involved, still were not aware of BRCST. Cal provided cards and Chief indicated all Captains will have copies.
- Acknowledged Mike H, who Is the president of Mogollon Rim Amateur Radio Club, and the importance of communications when other systems are down. We agreed to help promote their organization on our website, and are interested in learning more on how we can partner.
- Reminder was provided that not all decisions need to wait for General Meeting approvals, and we agreed that interim board meetings could handle decisions (i.e. Signage design, and placement) to keep progress moving.
