TREASURER REPORT – Rod J
- Financial Report for May 2025 will not be available from bank until 5/11, however current available balance provided indicates funds are adequate.
- Reviewed donations from recent events
- Discussed upcoming expenses for shed repair and maintenance, along with some event food and printing expenses.
OLD BUSINESS
- Daron provided an update on the shed repairs. They have assessed what is needed to restore the condition so we can begin using it to store our equipment. Daron will provide team to do repairs over the next few weeks.
- Discussed feedback on recent events conducted by BRCST
- Active Shooter/Stop the Bleed – 50-60 attendees, online registration was a big help, advertising campaign went well, good feedback from CCSO and attendees
- Memorial Day Boutique – thanks to team members who helped setup and staff, handed out medical info cards prepared by Dick (very good feedback on these), good opportunity to get out our message
- Open House Event – 25 – 30 attendees from all communities, good feedback from external partners, Daron is documenting the process to use for future events as a model. Areas for improvement included getting community bulletin board flyers out sooner, suggestion that food service for Open House be set up so it can continue through venue, and time boxing speakers to maintain interest and keep program moving.
NEW BUSINESS
- Discussed upcoming event plans
- Jim has discussed July 4 Starlight “parade” with CCSO CERT and we are asked to hand out info for OHV and other teams like we did last year. This will qualify for CERT activity participation for CERT members. Jim will be coordinating a team to stuff inserts into packages for handing out.
- Casey mentioned having a float in the Starlight “parade” on July 4 to represent BRCST. He has a flatbed trailer we can use. Deb, Nicole and Emily have agreed to decorate the float, and will be reaching out for others interested in helping.
- We plan to have a table at BRFD on July 5 to hand out flyers and medical info cards. We will need volunteers to help set up, staff and tear down our table/tent. We plan to be located out behind fire station as in the past.
- Deb P. has agreed to lead a seminar entitled “Prevent Sex Trafficking in Arizona” in August. This will be open to all the community to provide awareness and identify what we can do to help with this issue. Dates and additional details to follow.
- Casey mentioned that with additional events planned and the need for equipment, we should consider purchase of 1-2 tables along with the donation of a gas grill from Lisa M. It was agreed that we should proceed with these items once the shed is secured for storing them.
- Jim mentioned that Jon P from CCSO CERT has agreed to provide CERT ID badges for those registered with them if we can provide ai ID Photo for him to use. These will be helpful for us to assist with events as known CERT members. Next CERT Training in Flagstaff will be in late Sept/Early Oct TBD.
- Pam & Cal will be unavailable for managing search operations in July, and have transitioned responsibility to Nicole as primary contact.
- Dan P suggested that we thank BRCC for all their support for providing meeting rooms, tables, equipment access, etc. through a donation. The team recommended and approved a $250 donation to BRCC. Rod will coordinate with Brian to provide the donation.
- Nicole recommended that we provide “Hello my name is…” name tags at our events to both identify our team and attendees. She is also working on creating ID badges to fit in our safety vest pocket for ID when called out.
- JR has agreed to monitor the rotating cell phone for the next month as POC
