TREASURER REPORT – Rod J..
- Financial Report for May 2025 indicated current status as adequate.
- Upcoming Expenses include Shed Repair, approved donation to BRCC and table(s) for info booth
OLD BUSINESS
- Rod presented an update from Daron on Shed repair. Daron indicated plans to be available in 2 weeks to use his crew to make repairs. Daron will communicate date in case anyone else is available to help. Dan P. offered the starter row of shingles to work with singles provided by Chief Payne.
NEW BUSINESS
- Discussed recent events (July 4 cruise and July 5 at BRFD). Both events were beneficial in communicating who we are to the community. Donations from July 5 exceeded expectations, and had 7 new registrations.
- BRCST CERT members helped prepare packets to hand out prior to cruise on the 4th. Participants get credit for CERT activity. Around 100 packets prepared and handed out over the weekend.
- Discussion on recent animal searches. 3 searches all resulting in found animals. BRCST was brought in to search sooner than in the past, which indicates our team is being recognized as a valuable resource. Recommendations that we may want to clarify intake process steps to make sure we have good info t begin and work on the search. Thanks to all who participated in the search efforts.
- Discussed lost person incident, along with Incident Report process completed by Dick. Team was mobilized quickly and made contact with BRFD prior to going to search. Person was located prior to arrival on scene and search called off. Recommend we ensure proper close out of event with returning to a check point to ensure all search members are accounted for and we have all info needed for Incident Report.
- Discussed proposed “Prevention of Sex Trafficking” seminar to be conducted by Deb P. We have scheduled the seminar for August 2, 2025 from 9-11 AM at BRCC. Snacks will be provided. Deb will prepare flyers for posting at bulletin boards, Lori has agreed to post flyer on FB, and Emily will post on community BB. Rod will set up registration form so we can track the number of attendees.
- Suggestion made to conduct refresher sessions on Process Flow, Communications, and Mock Search to help new members understand process and help assure we all are following the same procedures.
- Discussion was raised about local community member in need of some help providing access to his home due to physical constraints. Discussion included that there may be some agencies that are more appropriate to recommend contractors and may have funding for facilitating the construction needs. BRCST is not properly licensed or insured to perform construction on a person’s home, but we may be able to suggest someone who is.
- A recommendation was made to review call out lists to make sure new members are properly included and if any updates are needed.
- Safety vests were handed out to active members who did not have ones already, and info taken to order additional vests as needed.
- Rod J will handle the BRCST physical phone for the next month.
Next board mtg. – The recommended board meeting ion late June did not happen due to conflicts. It is recommended to schedule a board meeting prior to our next general meeting to ensure activities are moving forward.
