TREASURER REPORT – Rod J..

• Financial Report for June and July 2025 indicated current status as adequate.
• We had over $250 in donations from our July 5 info table at BRFD – Thanks to all who participated
• The $250 donation to BRCC for their support in our team activities was delivered
• Upcoming Expenses include Shed Repair and table(s) for info booth

OLD BUSINESS

• The seminar on ways to help eliminate Sex Trafficking, presented by Deb P. was very informative. We had around 20 – 25 attendees from the community. For those who missed it and would like more info, you can visit Deb’s website at https://ezer-life.org/
• We had 3 calls this month on our request phone:
  • Community Service to assist with in home care
  • Vehicle Recovery for flat tire at Knoll Lake
  • Animal Support for question on potentially “stranded” baby deer

All were handled by our teams – Thanks goes out to those responding.

• Daron plans to have availability on August 22 to work on repairs to the shed. Please contact him if you are able to help. Once repairs are made, we can paint and put on the new roof so we can secure it and begin using.
•  Jim C discussed the recent potential offering for CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) training from CCSO. We had 8 potential interests, but Tucson was able to meet their quota. CCSO has agreed to conduct another training in the spring of 2026 at Blue Ridge. We will keep you informed of any potential dates and opportunities as they develop.

NEW BUSINESS

• Discussed recent issue raised about improper dumping at Little Bly Pit. Daron has been in contact with Brandon from the Forest Service to see if we can help. Suggestions were fielded from the team and Daron will discuss with Brandon from FS to see how we can be involved. One thing we can do is monitor the pit as we are taking our landscape materials and report any improper activity, along with making sure our neighbors understand proper use.
• Dick suggested we have a mock search to help us reinforce our processes and skills. He will be setting up a mock search for August 23, after Starlight breakfast. This will follow our call out process and help us train others who want to be involved.
• Casey reminded us that we are in the second half of the year, so we should be thinking about next year’s board members. Typically, the President and Vice President roles transition to “Board Member at Large” and President roles respectively. The roles for Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer are open for anyone interested. If you are interested in one of these roles, please contact one of the current board members.
• Pam reminded us of the new team members who may not be on call out or training lists. After a quick introduction around the room, Rod agreed to prepare updated lists for call outs, and membership data to share with team leads. If you are not, or not sure you are, on a team, please send an email to Rod at president@brcstaz.org with your contact info, and area of interest. He will forward to the appropriate leaders so they can contact you for any additional training or updates needed.

• Upcoming events:
  • August 30 – Labor Day weekend – We will have a table at BRFD for distributing info. We will need help setting up, tearing down and staffing the table during the event. Rod will send out a reminder with request for assistance prior to the event.
  • September ?? – We plan do have another seminar for the community. Topic TBD. Date and content will be provided as it is solidified.
• Nicole C will handle the BRCST physical phone for the next month.

Next board mtg. – The board will meet on August 19 at 6:00 to discuss upcoming seminar and future events, including leadership for 2026.
