SECRETARY REPORT

TREASURER REPORT – Rod J.

• Financial Report for from September indicated we have adequate funds.
• Recent deposits were made in our account from donations received.
• Upcoming Expenses include Shed Repair materials
• Upgraded batteries for handheld radios were purchased as recommended for around $50

OLD BUSINESS

• Mock search on 9/13 went well. We included Mike H from the Mogollon Rim Amateur Radio Club (MRARC) to participate. Mike provided guidance on comms and worked as base comms contact. Communications was a key plus in this event and many thanks go out to MRARC for their help.
• The Sept 27 event for Winter Preparedness and Health Awareness was a huge success with information provided from many resources including, BRFD, Coconino HHS, and our local teams. Suggestion was made to have a similar topic in the future due to its relevance on the mountain. Thanks go out to Nicole and Lori for all their hard work on making this a success.
• The shed repairs are still delayed due to availability of manpower. Some of the needed hardware and material has been purchased, and it was recommended to schedule a work day for our team to step up, and at least secure the building so we can begin using it for storage. Casey suggested we schedule for Saturday November 1 at 1:00 PM. More info will be sent out closer to the date.
• Jim discussed the upcoming Christmas party on December 10. The party will be held at Pine Canyon Clubhouse from 5-8 PM. BRCST will provide the meat, side dishes and desserts will be potluck style. Some suggestions were made regarding activities. If you want to help, or have ideas please contact Jim and we will finalize before our November meeting so we can send out details. RSVP will be requested so we can plan accordingly.

NEW BUSINESS

• Rod provided an update on board candidates. Dan P has offered to serve as Treasurer and Lori W has agreed to serve as Secretary for 2026. We are still looking for a Vice President nominee. If you are interested, please let us know. In the meantime, we may be contacting prospective candidates directly. We want to have positions identified before our November meeting, so we can approve in December and provide transition.
• Dick researched and found reasonable pricing for business card style magnets to distribute with the health info cards. The board will review options and provide a recommendation.
• After our mock search, and meeting with MRARC, Mike H has suggested we conduct a communications training for proper use and process for radio comms. It was suggested we could plan for our next meeting in November. Rod will reach out to MRARC to check on scheduling.
• An issue was discovered regarding our Text-em-all account. There has been an update that requires two factor authentication when logging in to send a request or view messages. This does not affect the ability to receive the text message, only sending the broadcast. Rod will check if we can update the authentication to send the code to all team leaders to allow them to log in and send messages.

Next board mtg. – Rod to send out potential dates to schedule a meeting prior to the November general meeting to finalize leadership candidates for 2026.
