MEETING MINUTES
The meeting was opened with the Pledge of Allegiance and a prayer led by Sharon B.
Board members in attendance are Casey S., Rod J., Brian A. and Nicole E.

TREASURER REPORT
The current account balance is $2,551
Brian A. provided a spreadsheet on current expenses and donations
501c3 regulations were discussed for becoming a charitable organization to be eligible for donations and tax-deductible contributions
Brian A. agreed to discuss 501c3 options with Scott G.
PRESIDENT REPORT
Casey S. reported 18 members attended the med training and another one will be available in Sept.
The wellness shed was a success with 12 members helping to repair and reorganize, thanks to all
Casey S. conveyed the Mock searches went well, communication and Avenza use was effective
OLD BUSINESS
CERT training is available September 27th ,28th, and 29th in Flagstaff; contact Jim C. for more info
2 BRCST medical bags and 4 Baofeng radios will be kept at BRFD
NEW BUSINESS
Emily J. has agreed to lead The Community Outreach Team
The animal search for August 23rd has been cancelled and will be rescheduled for September
Dick K. suggested contacting the Thompson’s for assistance in animal search
Jim C. explained CERT and requested email addresses to send out sign up documents and being publicized on our FB and Web pages
Dick K. will arrange for a designated spot for our medical bags and radios in the BRFD
Business cards were given out to be distributed to the community
Flyers will be printed without coming soon and the phone number will be added
The next Mock search will be to find our President on Saturday, August 26th at 10 am
Cal H., Brian A, and Rod J., agreed to be at our table for the Labor Day event on Sept.2nd
JR M. announced the Starlight event on Saturday, August 12th he will be promoting BRCST
Dick K. and Cal H. gave after action reports from the Mock searches
Channel 18 will be our radio channel with 16 as the backup channel for comms
Board approved having one combined Board and general meeting for November and December
Cal H. gave a presentation on using Avenza and safety while out in the forest
Nicole E. explained how to obtain a GMRS license online, programming Baofeng radios, using proper etiquette and other safety issues while out on searches
The next general meeting is September 12th 6pm at The Blue Ridge Community Church
