November 2023 – General Meeting

MEETING MINUTES
The meeting was opened with The Pledge of Allegiance and prayer led by Rod J.
Board members in attendance are Casey S., Rod J., and Nicole E.
October meeting minutes were approved unanimously by the group
TREASURER REPORT
The current account balance is $2400
This year’s expenses were discussed to determine an approximate budget expectation for next year
PRESIDENT REPORT
The recent personnel search was a learning experience that raised many issues for protocols on further searches and the need for written procedures for all groups
The 2nd medical training at BRFD had 11 members attend and had numerous beneficial training skills
VICE PRESIDENT REPORT
Rod J. reported he has been doing the FEMA and NIMS (100 ICS and 700 NIMS) training free online
OLD BUSINESS
The quarterly newsletter written by Casey S., our President, was emailed to all our members, posted on our website, FB and locally on all the neighborhood bulletin boards. Great job Casey!
The 501c3/INC process with Scott G. will no longer be pursued; Lori D. will be contacted to request her assistance in replacing him in assisting BRCST
NEW BUSINESS
The purchase of an animal retrieval catch cage was approved for purchase by the Board and group unanimously. Mike B. offered to donate a Spypoint camera for the cage monitoring. Thanks Mike!
Establishing “Active” and “Associate” member tiers and the dues of $100 and $50 per year for the levels were approved unanimously and will be implemented next year
Waivers for rescues and community outreach were suggested until further insurance can be obtained
The “call tree” is currently being utilized and is been working well, it will be utilized for CEMT contacting
The next available training is the HARTT Trapping workshop on Saturday, November 18th. Contact Pam H. to sign up
Nicole E. circulated the new training document to be updated and will be resending out the BRCST Search Team Checklist to the IC’s and team leads emails
The next meeting is December 12, 2023 at 6pm
